About Storm Thorgerson

Storm Thorgerson was born in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire in 1944. He co-founded the design studio Hipgnosis with Aubrey Powell in 1968, and together they created album artwork for Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, 10cc, Peter Gabriel, Black Sabbath and dozens of others. After Hipgnosis dissolved in 1983, Thorgerson continued designing covers for Pink Floyd, Muse, Biffy Clyro, The Cranberries and The Mars Volta, working right up until his death in 2013.

Most people have grown up with Storm Thorgerson's work without knowing who made it. He designed the prism on Dark Side of the Moon, the burning man on Wish You Were Here, the beds on the beach on A Momentary Lapse of Reason and dozens more. His album covers have been bought, framed and hung as artworks in their own right for decades.

Storm Thorgerson prints and signed editions are increasingly rare and highly sought after. We have a longstanding connection to the Thorgerson estate and can source works for collectors. Contact us to discuss what you're looking for or to register your interest at our gallery in Henley-on-Thames.
