About Harry Bunce
Harry Bunce was born in 1967 and raised in a small Hampshire village. He studied Fashion and Textiles in Bristol and spent twenty years working in the fashion industry before returning to art in 2007, prompted by an old school friend at a party who asked him how the art was going.
He began painting whimsical portraits of British wildlife, rabbits, foxes and cats that were charming on the surface but carried a darker, slightly unsettling edge underneath. A collaboration with screen printing studio Screen One, who also work with Banksy and Nick Walker, sharpened his style and broadened his appeal. Collectors have described his work as Beatrix Potter meets Quentin Tarantino. He has shown at the Saatchi Gallery in London and is a fierce defender of the countryside, contributing to projects with Keep Britain Tidy and Greenpeace.
