Banksy

Banksy emerged from the Bristol street art scene in the 1990s and has since become the most recognised and widely discussed artist working today. His identity remains unknown. His stencil-based work appears on walls, bridges and buildings around the world, and his studio prints and editions have become some of the most sought-after works in the contemporary art market.

His subjects range from anti-war and anti-establishment imagery to playful reworkings of art history and popular culture. In 2018 his Girl with Balloon famously self-shredded at auction at Sotheby's, and his works have since sold for record prices at auction houses worldwide.
