About This Work
In 1967, Sir Peter Blake and Jann Haworth created the album cover for The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, photographed by Michael Cooper at his Flood Street studio in Chelsea. It became one of the most recognisable images of the twentieth century.
Forty years later, in 2007, Blake and Apple Corps Ltd agreed to release the artwork as a limited edition silkscreen print for the first time. The hand-printing was carried out at Coriander Studios in London, commencing on 1st June 2007, the 40th anniversary of the album's release, and supervised by Sir Peter Blake himself.
We hold Artist Proof editions from a run of just 50, signed and numbered by Blake. Artist Proofs are produced alongside the main edition of 500 and are significantly rarer. Contact us at The Studio Gallery for pricing, availability and to arrange a viewing at our gallery in Henley-on-Thames.
