About Pure Evil

Charles Uzzell-Edwards was born in South Wales in 1968, the son of painter John Uzzell Edwards. He studied fashion and graphics in London, spent a decade in California designing for streetwear label Anarchic Adjustment and recording electronic music, and returned to London in the early 2000s where he picked up a spray can and started painting fanged bunny rabbits across the city.

As Pure Evil, he has become one of the most recognised figures in the global street art scene. His Nightmare Series portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, David Bowie, Elvis Presley and other cultural icons, each marked with his signature dripping teardrop, have been exhibited and collected worldwide. He runs two galleries in Shoreditch and has shown work everywhere from São Paulo and Sydney to Mongolia and Mexico City. He is also a descendant of Sir Thomas More.

Pure Evil prints and signed editions are available at The Studio Gallery. Contact us to ask about current stock or to register your interest at our gallery in Henley-on-Thames.
