Paul Mellia

Paul Mellia is a British super-realism artist, born in Edinburgh in 1962, and the only artist in the world officially licensed by Marvel to reproduce their superhero characters. He has worked with Disney and Marvel in Los Angeles, been commissioned to create an original mural for the London 2012 Olympics, and his original artwork has sold for upwards of £56,000 at auction.

Mellia's work sits between illustration and fine art. His 3D super-realism paintings of Marvel superheroes, music icons, classic cars and cultural figures have attracted collectors including Drake, Seal, Tamara Ecclestone and the late Princess Diana. In 2013 he lost his sight to a rare brain illness and was not expected to paint again. He regained his vision in 2016 and his comeback collection ICONS sold out within the hour at a private preview in Chelsea.
