About Katy Jade Dobson
Katy Jade Dobson grew up in North East Yorkshire and studied Fine Art at the University of Lincoln. She is largely self-taught as a painter and began exhibiting at art fairs and events before shifting to oil paints, drawn to their richness of tone and texture. Her work is influenced by the French symbolist Odilon Redon, particularly his use of vivid, saturated colour.
Her subjects include stags, hares, big cats, birds of paradise, sea life and florals, painted with bold colour and intricate detail that dissolves between realism and something more dreamlike. She has produced multiple sell-out collections, been commissioned by the Belmond Cadogan Hotel in London, and donates a percentage of profits from selected releases to the Marine Conservation Society.
