About Damien Hirst
Damien Hirst was born in Bristol in 1965 and grew up in Leeds. He studied at Goldsmiths College in London and came to public attention in 1988 when he curated Freeze, a group exhibition of his fellow students that is widely credited with launching the Young British Artists movement. His work spans painting, sculpture, installation and printmaking, and is held in major public and private collections worldwide.
Hirst's most recognised bodies of work include the spot paintings, the spin paintings, the butterfly paintings and the Natural History series of animals preserved in formaldehyde. His diamond-encrusted skull For the Love of God became one of the most talked-about artworks of the 2000s. He lives and works between London and Gloucestershire.
Damien Hirst prints and works appear at the gallery from time to time. Contact us to ask about current availability or to register your interest in specific works. We are always happy to source pieces on behalf of collectors.
